🍳 Unilever Food Solutions launches "Le Stelle di Domani" culinary competition for Italian hotel institute students from November 2024 to March 2025. The initiative, in collaboration with Federazione Italiana Cuochi, includes 8 lessons on contemporary restaurant trends. Students will compete using recipes inspired by 8 global trends identified in "Future Menus 2024" report. Ten finalists, chosen for innovation and creativity, will face off in the Rome finals on May 20, 2025, for a chance to attend an exclusive cooking course and a masterclass with star Chef Domenico Stile.

☕ Passalacqua, a historic roastery in Naples, marked its 75th anniversary and was honored with the "Torrefazione Tradizione" award at the third edition of the Camaleonte - Guida dei caffè e delle torrefazioni d’Italia. Blends Gold Vulcan and Harem received accolades, with Moana blend highly recommended. The company, still family-owned, now spans four generations and has expanded into new markets in Italy and abroad. Key figures include Paola Passalacqua (President), her daughter Serena (COO & HR Director), her nephew Francesco (CFO & Strategy Director), and Pasquale Iazzetta (Sales Director). Passalacqua has also seen an export growth, with international presence in 30 countries.

🍪 Gruppo Bauli's sourdough, named Futura, has been officially added to the Sourdough Library at the Sourdough Institute of Puratos in Sankt Vith, Belgium, as announced on December 4 by CEO Fabio Di Giammarco. This recognition highlights over a century of tradition and innovation, preserving the distinctive quality of Bauli's products. Futura, refreshed daily, is the 155th sourdough to join the library, which was founded in 2013. Bauli is an Italian confectionery leader with approximately 1300 employees, 7 production sites, and a portfolio including Bauli, Motta, Doria, and MaxSport brands.

🍗 Paolo Beretta was unanimously appointed President of the Italian Hunter Consortium by the Assembly of Consortium Members in Modena yesterday. He succeeds Lorenzo Beretta, who led from 2012. Italian Hunter salami, with an annual production of 4 million kg and a turnover of around 40 million euros, commits 30% of its total production to export. The consortium, established in May 2003 and officially recognized by the Ministry in 2005, now comprises 22 companies.

I formaggi Granarolo vincono dieci medaglie ai World Cheese Awards

🧀 Granarolo S.p.A. won 10 medals at the 36th World Cheese Awards in Viseu, Portugal, competing with 4,786 cheeses from 47 countries. They secured 5 silver medals for Mozzarella Fiordilatte Pettinicchio, Burrata Perla, Pecorino Toscano DOP Pinzani, Granarolo Gorgonzola DOP Piccante, and Erborinato al Tartufo Mario Costa, and 5 bronze medals for products including Formaggio di Capra "Il Saggio" Amalattea and Mozzarella Fior di Latte Perla. The most exported cheese, mozzarella, constitutes 37% of Granarolo's export value, predominantly to France, the Baltics, Poland, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, USA, and Japan. The group has various production sites including a new facility in Gioia del Colle (Bari) opening in 2025. Granarolo features a complete line of traditional Italian cheeses with multiple PDOs (Protected Designation of Origin) and a strong international presence.

Fisher&Price e Lavazza per una campagna natalizia incentrata sul rito del caffè

☕ Fisher-Price and Lavazza launch a social campaign "Ci facciamo un caffè?" for Christmas, featuring "la Mia Prima Macchina del Caffè Fisher-Price" and "Lavazza A Modo Mio" espresso machines. The campaign, created with Freeda, will be on air on digital platforms until Christmas. Customers can get discounts on both Fisher-Price and Lavazza products through purchases on the official Lavazza website and Amazon, where bundles are also available. Starting December 8, 2024, an educational event at Museo Lavazza in Turin will include a COFFEE KIDS QUIZ CHRISTMAS EDITION for children up to 12 years old. Lavazza, established in 1895 in Torino, boasts a revenue over €3 billion and operates in 140 markets with a yearly production of over 30 billion Lavazza coffee cups. The consumer survey Osservatorio 100 Giorni Sani, involving 4,000 consumers, will inform offerings tailored to current trends. Rivoluzione Bio, the General State of the organic sector, forms part of the European project BEING ORGANIC IN EU. SANA Food aims to expand its international presence, with over 40 countries participating, facilitated by partnerships and strategic collaborations.
