A Palermo il TAR annulla le limitazioni orarie del 'Regolamento Movida'

🏦 The TAR of Palermo ruled on January 17, 2025, that Palermo's municipal ordinance no. 88/2024 from February 2024, implementing the "Regolamento Movida" that limited opening hours for bingo halls and gaming establishments, was unlawful due to a lack of proper investigation. Emmanuele Cangianelli of FIPE Confcommercio, representing public gaming and EGP FIPE President, highlighted the decision's acknowledgment that regulatory decisions must be based on solid data and analysis, criticizing the municipality's insufficient engagement with industry associations. The 2017 agreement, limiting gaming activities to a maximum of six hours of daily closure, was contrasted by the regulation. The ruling is seen as a precedent for Italian cities, urging coherent public policies on gaming, especially in the digital age.
