Binter svecchia la flotta: accordo con Atr per quattro nuovi aerei

✈ Binter airline signed an agreement with Atr for the purchase of four new 72-600 range aircraft, with an option for five more Atr 72-600s. The new additions aim to modernize the fleet and cut CO2 emissions by 45%. President Rodolfo Núñez emphasized the commitment to comfort, connectivity, fuel consumption reduction, CO2 emissions, and operational costs. The total investment is approximately 205 million euros, supported by Santander, CaixaBank, and BBVA.

Windstar Cruises, restyling ultimato per la Wind Surf

🌊 Windstar Cruises' flagship vessel, the Wind Surf, with a capacity of 342 passengers, has completed the first phase of its renovation, which included the refurbishment of public spaces, restaurants, and suites. Currently sailing in the Caribbean, the makeover involved the main hall, reception, Yacht Club Café, Compass Rose Bar and Lounge, Amphora Restaurant and Wine Room, the pool bar, deck, the owner's suite, Star Boutique, and public restrooms, with all cabins now featuring brand-new TVs. Wind Surf now also offers Broadmoor and Sea Island Suites, luxury accommodations inspired by Windstar's twin resorts. A further renovation phase is scheduled for completion by December 2026, which will add new furnishings, goods, and decorations to the ship's cabins and will see the refurbishment of the Stella Bistro, Veranda, and gym.

Beer&Food Attraction 2025: l'industria bar & beverage si incontra a Rimini

🍺 Beer&Food Attraction, a B2B event by Italian Exhibition Group, will be held at Rimini Fiera from February 16 to 18, 2025. The expo, expanded by 14%, focuses on mixology and new Fuoricasa trends. It features a 14th edition of the International Horeca Meeting by Italgrob. The opening is on February 16 at 11 AM with notable Italian political and industry figures. The event showcases 600 exhibitors, 1,217 brands, and 115 independent craft breweries. It includes BBTech Expo for beer and beverage production and packaging technologies. An anticipated 130 foreign buyers from 47 countries are expected, and the event will host prestigious awards like Birra dell'Anno and Lorenzo Cagnoni Award. Five arenas will offer talks, competitions, and innovation, including Mixology Circus with 11 cocktail bars, the International Horeca Meeting, and the 9th Italian Cooking Championships by FIC.

🍺 "Wondercraft" by Vetra debuts "Italiæn Graffiti", a West Coast Imperial Pils, at Beer&Food Attraction in Rimini from February 16-18, 2025. Crafted with Bådin, the 6.5% ABV beer features 37 IBU, combining Pils and Caramunich II malts, Vic Secret, HBC1019, and Galaxy hops. Available in 33cl cans with artwork by Alessandro Serra Type, it will be sold post-fair on February 21 in selected venues and online. Stefano Simonelli, Head Brewer of Vetra, highlights the old and new school fusion in this craft.

L'export agroalimentare italiano cresce ancora: oltre 21 miliardi nel 2024

📈 Italian agri-food districts' exports grew by 7.7% to over €21 billion in the first nine months of 2024. The wine sector neared €5 billion (+4.4%), with mixed results across regions: Vini del Veronese (+9.6%), Vini dei colli fiorentini e senesi (+11%), Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene (+8%), while Vini di Langhe, Roero e Monferrato declined (-1.6%). Pasta and sweets export reached €3.6 billion (+7.6%), with Dolci di Alba e Cuneo at nearly €1.5 billion (+18.6%). Agricultural exports surpassed €2.9 billion (+5.4%), led by Alto Adige apples (+20%). Preserved food exports increased by €112 million (+5%), and meat and charcuterie advanced by €59 million (+3.1%). Dairy saw a €95 million rise (+5.2%), and coffee exports grew by 9.5%. Olive oil exports surged by €522 million (+52.4%), while rice remained stable (-0.3%). The fishery sector from Polesine and Veneziano rose by 11.6%. 🍷 Climate change is impacting viticulture, with extreme heat and drought threatening up to 70% of wine regions if global temperatures rise above 2°C pre-industrial levels. Assovini Sicilia and the University of Milan's InnoNDA project, started in April 2024, aims to diversify winemaking, decrease alcohol content, and preserve sensory quality, focusing on the Nero d'Avola variety. Collaborating with ISVEA labs and vineyards, the study explores vineyard and cellar techniques to lower alcohol without losing aroma or taste, employing new fermentation technologies, macerations, and terracotta amphorae. The research also delves into how climate change affects terroir, vine age, and agronomic practices on Nero d'Avola, Sicily's most widespread grape.

Grana Padano sbarca a Dubai per Gulfood 2025

🔔 From February 17-21, the "Consorzio Tutela Grana Padano" will participate in the 30th Gulfood Exhibition at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, with over 5,500 exhibitors from 130 countries and over 24 pavilions. The Consortium is in the Italian Dairy Pavilion, Stand A1-34, featuring Chef Francesco Romano's culinary demos and daily tastings of 16-month and 20-24-month aged Grana Padano, the world's most consumed PDO cheese. In 2024, 5,635,153 Grana Padano forms were produced (+3.27% vs. 2023), from about 2,953,196 tons of milk, involving 50,000 people in the production chain. Estimated exports for January-October 2024 reached 2,730,676 forms (+10.02% vs. 2023), with a gross salable cheese production of €4 billion, split between Italy (48%) and abroad (52%).
