The Olive Hub project in Umbria is innovating in oliviculture by identifying 20 resistant cultivars out of 2700 seedlings and 1700 genotypes. These cultivars are water deficit tolerant, temperature resistant, and adapted to integrated mechanization, promising sustainable economic and environmental benefits. Prejudices and legislative gaps hinder the adoption of resistant plants, often confused with GMOs.
