Coffee is a daily ritual for 80% of Italians, almost 3 out of 4 are regular or avid coffee drinkers. Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery Milano's exclusive Signature Cocktails list by Andrea Villa, a three-time Italian Coffee in Good Spirits champion, launched on March 10 at Arriviamo™ Bar. The list features six exclusive cocktails using the Milano Roastery Microblend and celebrates Italian flavors and aromas. A presentation event is scheduled for March 20 at the Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery Milano.

🍺 Red Bull released limited spring editions in the United States on March 3, 2025, featuring Red Bull Spring Edition Grapefruit & Blossom, Red Bull Pink Edition Wild Berries, and Red Bull Sea Blue Edition Juneberry, each also available sugar-free. The Grapefruit & Blossom is the first-ever spring edition launched in the U.S. The new flavors are designed to evoke spring energy and are currently exclusive to the U.S. market. A Bloomin' Grapefruit Mocktail recipe using Red Bull Spring Edition Grapefruit & Blossom was also introduced.

Grana Padano incontra gli Ambasciatori del Gusto all'Abbazia di Chiaravalle

🔔 In Milan, on March 10th, the Associazione Ambasciatori del Gusto hosts its annual Congresso annuale Futura 2025 with a special meeting on March 12th at Abbazia di Chiaravalle, where Grana Padano was first created in 1135. Around 100 participants will celebrate the world's most consumed DOP cheese, highlighting its territorial value. The Grana Padano Foundation, housed in the Abbey, supports social, cultural, and artistic projects. In 2024, the Consortium processed 5,635,153 Grana Padano wheels, a 3.27% increase from the previous year, involving 50,000 people in the production chain, with a 9% export increase to 2,694,882 wheels. Total sales reached €4 billion, with 48% (€1.85 billion) in Italy and 52% (€2.15 billion) abroad. Since 1954, the Consortium ensures the cheese's quality, and on April 24, 2002, was officially recognized for the DOP protection and promotion by the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies.

Il fuoricasa cambia pelle: retail e ristorazione competono sul Ready&to&Eat

🍝 Consumer habits solidified during the pandemic, such as take away and delivery, lead to a cautious spending approach due to ongoing inflation. Food service spending in countries like Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and the UK has rebounded to pre-Covid levels, rising from €309 billion in 2019 to €336 billion (+9%). However, visits to food outlets have not fully recovered, with full-service restaurants seeing a 2.7% decline, whereas fast-food services remain stable. Home delivery spending surged from €16 billion in 2019 to €37 billion, supported by the continued trend of remote or hybrid work. Immediate consumption meals account for 37% of Europe's €888 billion Food & Beverage expenditure. Retail channels, which grew from 21% in 2021 to 23% in 2024, are increasingly challenging traditional fast food with fresh and ready meal options. France leads in consumer out-of-home spending within retail at 6.8%, a 17.5% increase, followed by the UK (6.6%), Germany (5.8%), Spain (4.2%), and Italy (3.5%), particularly for ready-to-eat meals geared towards lunch (+9%).

☕ From March 3-7, 2025, students from the University of Parma and Politecnico di Torino's 2nd and 3rd year Sustainable Food System Design and Communication courses participated in the "Coffee Design" workshop, hosted by Lavazza in Torino. Guided by Prof. Paolo Tamborrini, Marcello Arcangeli, and Michele Pulcher, they explored coffee experimentation, marking the 20th edition of the event at the Lavazza Training Center. Lavazza, established in 1895, boasts a €3.1 billion turnover, operates in 140 markets with 8 factories in 5 countries, and employs approximately 5,500 worldwide. Lavazza produces over 30 billion coffee cups annually and is known for its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the coffee industry.

Il Gruppo Colussi riduce l’impatto ambientale con soluzioni innovative per il trasporto

🛡 Gruppo Colussi, an Italian food sector company, partners with AT DUE Srl and Greenture (a subsidiary of Snam) for sustainable transport solutions using a fleet of trucks fueled by Bio-LNG starting June 1, 2024.
