Bologna's new locale symbolizes artisanal quality, inclusion, and sustainability, with planned events before opening in May at locations including Fermento in Villa (March 21-22), Ragù&Draft (April 2), and Forno Brisa (April 16). Mamm seeks to further expand to other Italian cities and ultimately return to its roots in Puglia.

🍷 Opera Ingegno e Creatività launches its first Vermouth line, Vermouth di Torino Rosso Tetti Battù, produced by Cascina Tetti Battuti di Chieri, owned by the Cometto family. The Vermouth adheres to the 22 March 2017 regulations for IG status, made with 75% Piedmont Chardonnay grapes from Cometto’s Chieri vineyards. Unique for its three artemisia varieties, it also features notes of cinnamon, cloves, and galanga. First Chardonnay plantation by the company was in 2018, with the first wine bottles produced from the 2021 harvest. The product is featured at the Opera restaurant as an aperitif or paired with desserts and is suitable for classic cocktails like Negroni and Americano.

The practice of "front loading"—importing goods early to evade anticipated tariffs—boosted exports in early 2024 by 142.6% from unexpected Russian orders. U.S. announced tariff spikes potentially reaching 200% have led to a 13% increase in American imports in January 2025, 6.1% in February, and an expected 10-11% in March. Prosecco sales in January 2025 rose by 8% compared to January 2024. Italy's wine stock as of February 28, 2025, was 55.4 million hectoliters, a 1.3% decrease from the previous year, with an additional 304,612 hectoliters of new wine (+71.4%) and 4.5 million hectoliters of musts (-7.1%). The wine sector could face a pronounced crisis by 2026.

Ten finalist teams from regions including Abruzzo, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Lombardia, Marche, Piemonte, Puglia, and Toscana will compete in three categories: Traditional, Chocolate, and Innovative Artisanal Colomba. Unsampled Colombe will be donated to orphans or Caritas.

Nasce Hampden 1753, il rum che incarna tre secoli di tradizione artigianale

🍸 Hampden Estate, founded in 1753, is renowned for its high-quality rum and has launched "Hampden 1753," a new distillate from Trelawny, Jamaica. The rum is made using traditional methods, including spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and distillation in six copper pot stills, one from 1960. Hampden 1753 undergoes tropical aging for 3 years in ex-Bourbon barrels and is bottled at 46% ABV, without added sugars or colorants. The distillery has over 6500 barrels stored in three warehouses, with the first 80% full, the second at 60%, and a third smaller warehouse being implemented. Hampden started bottling Single Rum in 2018, in collaboration with Velier, and has a treasure of exceptional ex-sherry casks among its inventory.
