A "rather good" African cocoa harvest is expected this year, possibly improving by 20-25% over the last year, with confirmation pending in the coming weeks. If this stabilization persists, significant cost reductions could be reflected in Mondelēz International's third-quarter financial report. The chocolate category is deemed the best-performing in the snack sector, and pricing will be closely monitored to maintain market penetration.

🍷 Carmignano, known for its wine quality, received DOC in 1975 and DOCG in 1990, the highest Italian wine quality recognition. The region has about 200 hectares of vineyards and is one of Tuscany's eleven DOCG areas. The Medici family introduced international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, enhancing the local viticulture. The current winemaking consortium consists of 10 producers. The Carmignano DOCG exports 40% of its production to countries including the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and European nations, with growing markets in China and Japan. The wine is aged in oak or chestnut barrels: Carmignano for eight months and Riserva for twelve months, with two and three years of aging respectively.

🍫 Giraudi, a chocolate company from Castellazzo Bormida (AL), has launched a new vegan product line crafted by Giacomo and Davide Boidi, consisting of Toste, Quadrelloni, Napolitain, Frutta Candita, Dragées, Gianduiotti, and Gianduione. These products, including 100g Toste with 61% dark chocolate and 750g Quadrellone, are made without animal derivatives, featuring ingredients like Italian nuts and dark chocolate as the base. The vegan Gianduiotti won an award at the International Chocolate Awards 2017.

Verso Merano WineFestival: appuntamenti con le anteprime dell'edizione 2024

🍷 The 33rd Merano WineFestival will take place from November 8-12, 2024, featuring international wine enthusiasts and professionals. Pre-launch events began in Sibari at Vinitaly and the City, where Calabrian producers received WineHunter Award Rosso and Gold. The 85th Gran Premio Merano Alto Adige integrates with Merano WineFestival on September 28-29. An exclusive event, “bio&dynamica &more,” highlighted organic and biodynamic wines from August 30 to September 1, with 33 Calabrian wines awarded. The Merano WineFestival will feature national and international award-winning products, including a Champagne Catwalk on November 12, 2024. Online ticket sales and industry accreditation are now open.
