National holiday packages increased by 14.5% in one month, reflecting high season demand. Annually, olive oil prices soared by 35.7% since July 2023, followed by national holiday packages at 29.9%. Sound and image recording media climbed by 19%, while pools, passenger rail transport, amusement parks, and sports events each grew by 8.1%. Il secondo trimestre 2024 di Mondelez International

📈 Mondelēz International reported a 1.9% decrease in net revenues for Q2 2024, despite a 2.5% organic revenue growth countered by negative currency impacts and the divestiture of its gum business, which was sold to Perfetti Van Melle in 2023 for over $1 billion. Gross profit fell by $557 million, with gross margin dropping 590 basis points to 33.5%. Adjusted gross profit margin improved by 330 basis points to 40.5%, thanks to price increases and reduced production costs. In the first half of 2024, Mondelēz returned $2.2 billion to shareholders through cash dividends and share repurchases. For 2024, the company forecasts high single-digit organic net revenue growth (3-5%) and a free cash flow of over $3.5 billion, with currency translation expected to decrease net revenue growth by approximately 1.5%.

Florentis by Winestillery: ecco il primo whisky artigianale toscano, made in Chianti

🥃 Florentis, the first artisanal Tuscan whisky, was recently created in Florence by Winestillery, located in the Chianti Classico region, and distributed by Velier. The brand offers two varieties: Vin Santo Wine Cask and Super Tuscan Wine Cask, the latter featuring 48.3% alcohol by volume, unchilled-filtered and uncolored. As of now, 5,000 bottles have been bottled, with plans to launch in France and the USA in September. Enrico Chioccioli Altadonna, a second-generation family member with a long winemaking tradition, spearheads the distillery using an alambicco named Bacco, produced by Frilli, and exclusively Italian grains with native yeasts for fermentation. The distillery also offers gin, vermouth, bitter, and vodka, defined by the local terroir. Tours, guided tastings, and masterclasses are available by appointment, with prices ranging from 35 to 160 euros. A new urban distillery in central Florence is projected to open within the year, focusing on whisky production and educational spaces.
