Prodotti green nella GDO: dati, crescita e trend del 2023

🌱 116,699 "green" products in GDO shelves communicate sustainability through specific claims, generating €43.8 billion in sales, representing 92.1% of the packaged consumer goods business. In 2023, value sales rose by +9.3% annually despite a -4.5% drop in sold volumes. Sustainability analysis by Osservatorio Immagino expanded in 2023, in partnership with Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa. Environmental sustainability leads, with 83.6% of green products featuring related claims, most notably in "cold" and "fresh" departments, and private labels and top 20 brands being most active. Packaging recyclability claims are on 54.5% of products, with a +13.3% value sales increase. Social sustainability appears on 11,650 products (8.4% of the total), generating €6.1 billion in sales, while animal welfare is a niche, with 2,803 products (2% of the total) accounting for €1.4 billion in sales.

Antica Distilleria Petrone: nuova sfida di affinamento sott'acqua con il limoncello

🍹 On September 25, Mercoledì, at 11:30, Antica Distilleria Petrone launched an underwater aging experiment with limoncello off Castel dell’Ovo. After pioneering underwater aging with Elixir Falernum in 2021, they submerged bottles of limoncello 15 meters deep in Santa Lucia harbor, to be studied post-recovery by Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. The social project involves youth from Napoli's Penal Area and is supported by multiple organizations including the Comune di Napoli and Marina Militare.

IPlanet e Autogrill lanciano un nuovo concept di ristorazione esclusivo su 41 stazioni di servizio

🏦 Autogrill, leader in travel dining, and IPlanet, a joint venture between IP and Macquarie Capital EV Asset Holding, sealed a partnership today to develop a new dining concept in 41 service stations across Italy, with the first opening set for 2024. IPlanet's Pasquale Cuzzola and Autogrill’s Nuova Sidap CEO Bruno Bestetti formalized the agreement. The eco-friendly design will feature cafeterias, bars, snacks, and light cooking, employing circular economy principles and creating 200 new jobs. Locations include 13 in Lombardy, 9 in Piedmont, 6 in Lazio, and others spread across Puglia, Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Umbria, and Calabria.

Pescaria presenta "Tonnerò": la tradizione della cucina di mare nel panino dello chef Peppe Guida

🍴 Pescaria, a quick-service restaurant chain from Polignano a Mare, introduces "Tonnerò" sandwich, designed by Michelin-starred chef Peppe Guida. Torna Mastro Panettone, il concorso dedicato ai migliori lievitati artigianali

🎂 "Mastro Panettone", the annual competition celebrating artisanal Italian Christmas leavened treats, is set for 2024 with categories including "Traditional Artisan Panettone", "Artisan Chocolate Panettone", and "Artisan Pandoro". Organized by Goloasi.it, the event limits participation to 330 products from 232 artisans—160 traditional panettones, 120 chocolate, and 50 pandori. Initial judging from October 8-10 will narrow down to 16 traditional, 12 chocolate panettones, and 5 pandori, with the finals on November 5. The 2024 jury consists of industry experts Stefano Laghi, Marco De Vivo, Giuseppe Mascolo, Maurizio Bonanomi, Francesco Borioli, Antonio Daloiso, and Eustachio Sapone. The store offers over 16,000 products including local items from 60+ suppliers. Following the acquisition of Gruppo Regina, Maiora now has over 115 stores in Calabria. All 206 Regina employees were integrated into Maiora, now employing over 2,600 people.

Wine Next. A Padova novità e occasioni di business per i professionisti Horeca

🍷 Wine Next, a "Business to Business" wine and spirits event, will take place on September 23-24, 2024, at Padova's pavilion 11, organized by Padova Hall and the Veneto team of Wine and Spirits Agents. The fair will feature around 150 exhibitors, including prestigious Italian wine producers and about 20 distilleries and champagne distributors. The 2024 edition will introduce Ho.re.tec, a space for food exhibitors and services, and a comprehensive Masterclass program with experts like Joe Bastianich and Nicola Frasson. The first edition in 2021 had 69 exhibitors and nearly 1000 visitors, growing to 142 exhibitors and nearly 3000 visitors in 2022, with 51% from Padova province, 30% from the rest of Veneto, 15% from Friuli and Trentino-Alto Adige, and 4% from other regions.
