Mikael Jasin è il nuovo Global Ambassador di Victoria Arduino

☕ Mikael Jasin, 2024 Barista World Champion, appointed Global Ambassador for Victoria Arduino, an Italian brand known for high-performance espresso machines. Relationship began in 2018 with a course on VA388 Black Eagle, leading to a top six global ranking in 2019. Jasin contributed to the launch of Black Eagle Maverick in 2021 and opened Omakafé in Serpong Tangerang, Indonesia, in 2023. As Global Ambassador, he will promote espresso machines and share expertise, with appearances at SCAJ in Japan and Korea Café Show from November 6-9, and product launches in Vietnam (November 14) and Malaysia (December 3-4).

🍹 Circana's analysis shows the beverage industry in the major European economies is growing, adapting to health, innovation, and sustainability trends. The beverage market value reached €160 billion, growing by 2.4% over the previous year. Alcoholic drinks make up 43% (€69 billion) of the value, while non-alcoholic drinks (excluding fresh ones) dominate in volume at 64% (€62 billion). However, price hikes, particularly for non-alcoholic drinks, have led to a volume reduction across categories by 1.4%, with alcoholic drinks down by 2% and non-alcoholic drinks by 1.2%. Despite volume declines, non-alcoholic innovation drives growth as consumers seek healthier alternatives, with functional, plant-based, and protein-enriched drinks, including energy and sports drinks, becoming more popular. Sustainability has become a priority, with nearly half of European shoppers opting for eco-friendly packaging, and 55% of Spanish consumers switching brands for more sustainable packaging options, a trend also seen in Germany, France, and the UK. Economic affordability is another key factor, with many consumers turning to promotions, smaller formats, and private label products in response to rising prices. Private labels maintain an advantage in various European countries over national brands in terms of value and volume.

Mowi Professional, la risposta alle nuove tendenze alimentari nella ristorazione

🍹 Mowi, a Norwegian leader in the salmon sector, offers a range of products for restaurants called MOWI PROFESSIONAL, featuring cold-smoked salmon, salmon burgers, and tartare. Despite a 3.1% increase in foodservice prices from 2023, 88% of surveyed Italians continue dining out. The CREST study by Circana shows a 1.2% increase in fish consumption in restaurants from 2022, with salmon dishes accounting for 30% of total fish consumption. MOWI PROFESSIONAL products, rich in Omega 3, are responsibly farmed in Norwegian fjords without antibiotics or GMOs, and certified by Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). The line includes CRYO-frozen salmon cubes (2 Kg), breaded salmon burgers (150g), and natural burgers (100g). Mowi has topped the Coller FAIRR index for sustainable protein producers for five consecutive years.
