Visitors can sample diverse bread types, pizzas, sandwiches, and panettoni at Bread Bro's stand.

Olio extravergine d'oliva. Entro fine anno i prezzi potrebbero calare del 40%

📈 Zefferino Monini, CEO of the leading Italian olive oil company Monini, forecasts a price drop of extra virgin olive oil under €10 per liter by the end of the year, with a potential decrease of 30%-40%. Global consumption is expected to hit around 3 million tonnes by 2025, up from 2.7 million in 2024, as production could reach 3.3 to 3.5 million tonnes. Italy's production will be lower due to unfavorable weather but will not affect prices. Monini has planted over 700,000 olive trees in their sustainability project, aiming for 1 million by 2030. Monini’s 2023 sustainability report highlights 23 million liters of olive oil sold, €195 million in revenue, products exported to 61 countries, 624 hectares of organic olive groves, a 34.7% reduction in CO2 emissions, and 99.9% precision irrigation in Bosco Monini. The company also supports educational projects and scientific research.

The Polli family retains a minority share. Dalla Finlandia nuove opportunità per il vino italiano

🍷 In June, Finland passed a law allowing natural fermentation alcohol up to 8% to be sold outside the state monopoly. Finland has a population of 5.5 million and imports 30 million bottles of Italian wine annually, averaging 10 liters per capita. The sale of alcoholic beverages in the Nordic countries is state-controlled. The new Finnish law could benefit Italy, as other producers like France and Spain don't offer wines below 8%. Petri Viglione of Winital reported a 0% to 15% increase in wine distribution market share within two months, with Kesko and Sok splitting 5% each and Lidl taking 10%. Previous Finnish limits allowed up to 4.5% alcohol in 2018, raised to 5.5%, and now 8%.

Sostenibilità e gusto: la missione di Barilla al ''G7 Agricoltura e Pesca''

🍕 Barilla will feature at the G7 Agriculture and Fisheries from September 27-29 in Ortigia, Syracuse. The Barilla Emergency Mobile Kitchen, in collaboration with the Civil Protection of Parma, will serve over 500 hot meals per hour and operate Pasta Parties on September 25-27 with over 30 volunteers. Since 2014, the mobile kitchen has responded to emergencies including the 2023 Emilia Romagna flood and the Suviana hydroelectric plant tragedy, supported by 31 volunteers and the Barilla family since the 1994 Piedmont flood.

SANA Food 2025: un viaggio tra sana alimentazione e Horeca

📢 SANA Food, il nuovo format della 36° edizione storica dedicato al biologico e al naturale, si terrà a BolognaFiere dal 23 al 25 febbraio 2025, focalizzandosi su alimentazione sana e tendenze emergenti, con target su professionisti Horeca e retail specializzato. Secondo The European House - Ambrosetti (2024), i consumi out of home crescono rispetto alla grande distribuzione organizzata. L'evento presenterà anche l’Osservatorio 100 Giorni Sani, con un'analisi biennale su 4.000 consumatori. Saranno inclusi prodotti biologici, biodinamici, vegetariani, vegani, plant based e dell’alimentazione funzionale. In concomitanza si svolgerà la Slow Wine Fair, edizione 2025. SANA Food è organizzata da BolognaFiere con il supporto di partner e patrocinatori vari, tra cui FederBio, ICE, e il patrocinio del Ministero dell'agricoltura.

Prodotti green nella GDO: dati, crescita e trend del 2023

🌱 116,699 "green" products in GDO shelves communicate sustainability through specific claims, generating €43.8 billion in sales, representing 92.1% of the packaged consumer goods business. In 2023, value sales rose by +9.3% annually despite a -4.5% drop in sold volumes. Sustainability analysis by Osservatorio Immagino expanded in 2023, in partnership with Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa. Environmental sustainability leads, with 83.6% of green products featuring related claims, most notably in "cold" and "fresh" departments, and private labels and top 20 brands being most active. Packaging recyclability claims are on 54.5% of products, with a +13.3% value sales increase. Social sustainability appears on 11,650 products (8.4% of the total), generating €6.1 billion in sales, while animal welfare is a niche, with 2,803 products (2% of the total) accounting for €1.4 billion in sales.

Antica Distilleria Petrone: nuova sfida di affinamento sott'acqua con il limoncello

🍹 On September 25, Mercoledì, at 11:30, Antica Distilleria Petrone launched an underwater aging experiment with limoncello off Castel dell’Ovo. After pioneering underwater aging with Elixir Falernum in 2021, they submerged bottles of limoncello 15 meters deep in Santa Lucia harbor, to be studied post-recovery by Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. The social project involves youth from Napoli's Penal Area and is supported by multiple organizations including the Comune di Napoli and Marina Militare.
