Allegrini Wine Distribution porta in Italia il brand David Moret

🍷 Starting October 15, 2024, David Moret wines will be available in Italy through Allegrini Wine Distribution, part of Allegrini Wines, expanding their portfolio which began in 2018. This includes prestigious Burgundy wines from areas like Meursault and Corton-Charlemagne. Matteo Allegrini, a student of oenology in France, established contacts leading to distribution of French wines in Italy. Other brands introduced include Jacques Picard, Domaine du Couvent, and Domaine La Meulière, each with unique winemaking philosophies and experiences.

ASSITOL: campagna olearia ancora difficile per l'Italia

🌽 The Italian olive oil industry predicts a below-average production of 200,000 tonnes for the 2024-25 season due to climatic crises, particularly impacting Southern regions like Puglia which accounts for 50% of the country's olive groves. In contrast, the Mediterranean area sees growth with Spain leading at over 1.3 million tonnes, followed by Turkey (250,000 tonnes), Tunisia (320,000 tonnes), Greece (230,000 tonnes), and Portugal (170,000 tonnes). Italy's annual olive oil production doesn't exceed 350,000 tonnes against a demand of about 1 million tonnes, leading to blending practices to meet consumer needs. Quality checks are emphasized by ASSITOL, with thousands of annual controls by each mill and rigorous national and public monitoring systems in place.

Assovini Sicilia reported that 80.5% of members introduced new technologies, 22% are involved in experimental projects, and 20.3% collaborate with research institutions. SOStain Sicily Foundation, established in 2020, aims to promote sustainability, impacting not just agriculture but also worker well-being and consumer health. The Sicilian wine sector, with its innovative approach, is actively facing future challenges to maintain quality production.

📈 In August 2024, Italy's Large-Scale Retail Trade (GDO) generated €10.4 billion, a 2.5% increase from August 2023. The inflation index for Packaged Mass Consumption (LCC) was -0.2%, with a real price change of -0.8%. Specialist Drug stores saw an 11.9% revenue jump, while Supermarkets and Discounts grew by 4.1% and 1.8%, respectively. Promotional sales constituted 22.8%, up 1% year-over-year. Brand distributor products (MDD) reached a 22.6% share in Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, and Free Services, and 31.6% nationally, including Discounts. Grocery volume and value increased by 3.1% and 2.3%, respectively, with Beverages and Personal Care sectors growing by over 5% in both aspects. Meat saw a decrease of 1.2% in value, despite a 0.2% increase in volume.
