Equal Pay Day: la lotta contro il gender pay gap nell'industria turistica e dell'ospitalità
💹 On November 15, the European Commission observes 'Equal Pay Day' to highlight the pay gap between men and women in Europe. The hospitality sector sees women earning 14.7% less than men for the same roles, despite comprising 61% of the workforce and 64% in travel agencies and tour operators. In 2023, only 7% of CEOs and 22% of top management in leisure are women, with a slight increase of 4% among CEOs and 17% in managerial roles since 2007. BWH Hotels Italia & Malta, the largest hotel group in Italy, boasts 67% female employees and over half of managerial positions held by women. The World Tourism Organization encourages investment in women, with potential to boost per capita GDP by 20% and create 300 million jobs by 2035.
