📋 L'Istat introduced a new ATECO classification, effective from January 1, 2025, and operational from April 1, 2025. It eliminates distinction between fixed and other sales methods (e.g., online, ambulant) for retail trade, categorizing by product type instead. Retail activities will no longer be classified by sales area (e.g., hypermarkets, supermarkets), but rather by predominant goods sold. Unioncamere, with MIMIT, will update ATECO codes in the Business Register from April 1, 2025. Fiscal impacts include updating VAT codes for tax declarations and revised ISA indices for retail trade, effective from fiscal year 2024. ATECO revisions maintain consistency with NACE and ISIC standards.

Mercato del lavoro italiano 2024: sul podio delle professioni più richieste GDO e Retail

Lombardy leads with 29% of the total job offers, followed by Emilia-Romagna (16.4%), Veneto (13.8%), Piedmont (10%), and Tuscany (6.4%). Milan tops the provincial list with 10.4% of national offers. The most sought-after job category is Manufacturing and Production Workers (29.1%), with the Pharmaceuticals sector seeing a 73.7% increase in job searches. Companies have refined their talent search, resulting in 20.8% more CV downloads, totaling over 240,000, and a 20.6% reduction in database searches.
