🏦 European airports and air connectivity account for 5% of Europe's GDP, as found in a study by ACI Europe conducted by SEO Amsterdam Economics titled "The economic and social impact of European airports and air connectivity". The study reveals that European airports and connectivity support 14 million jobs and generate €851 billion in GDP annually. A 10% increase in direct air connectivity leads to a 0.5% GDP per capita rise and 1.6% job growth. This connectivity also correlates with a 14% poverty rate decrease, 9% better education access, 8.5% more research and development investment, 19% gains in gender equality, and a 1.2% increase in life satisfaction.

An additional 30% growth is expected over the next three years, potentially doubling in five years. Eleven new 5-star hotels, adding 1,500 rooms, are anticipated by the end of 2024 into 2025.

Post-pandemic trends include interest in mountain and seaside locations, aiming to extend tourism seasons. Italy ranks fifth in Europe for serviced apartments with annual revenues over €2.4 billion, holding a 10% market share in this hospitality segment.

Aniasa: nel terzo trimestre del 2024 frenano le immatricolazioni dei veicoli a noleggio

Globaldata: calano dell’11% le transazioni nel travel

📌 GlobalData reports an 11% year-on-year decrease in global travel activity in the first three quarters of 2024, with 519 total transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, and venture financing, compared to 583 in the same period of 2023. M&A transactions fell by 6.8%, and venture financing deals by 25.2%. North America, Asia-Pacific, and South and Central America saw transaction volume decreases of 36%, 7.7%, and 20%, respectively. Europe improved by 10.3%, while the Middle East and African region remained stable. The USA, China, and France experienced respective declines of 36.3%, 38.5%, and 42.9%, while India and Japan saw increases of 24.3% and 38.1%. Transaction volumes in the UK, South Korea, and Australia remained mostly unchanged.

The international crew of Axiom Space's Mission Ax-3 boarded the Frecciarossa high-speed train on October 9 at Rome Termini Station for their Post Flight Tour.
