Jfc: non sempre le entrate della tassa di soggiorno riescono a coprire i costi dei Comuni per la gestione dei turisti

  • Laura Alese - Federturismo Confindustria
  • 17 Marzo 2025
💰 Jfc's tourism research estimates that each tourist costs a municipality at least €3. Italian destinations face annual costs of at least €20 million, while medium-sized locations like Perugia or Siena may incur up to €7 million. The average cost to manage overtourism is €2.9 per guest per day, rising to €4.7 in Venice and at least €400,000 yearly for small municipalities. Cinque Terre's daily cost is €4.5 per visitor, and the Dolomites' "hit and run" tourism costs municipalities about €3.5 per visitor per day.

🚢 In Catanzaro, Assomarinas President Roberto Perocchio, alongside Regional Council President Mancuso and other dignitaries, presented a new municipal initiative for Catanzaro Lido's port. The project involves transforming a partly silted and degraded refuge harbor into a modern marina for 400 boats up to 20 meters. It includes a separate fishing dock, waterfront enhancements, and beach nourishment for the nearby Blue Flag-awarded Giovino beach. The redevelopment is based on project financing seeking private investors. Announced on March 13, 2025, the plan aims to optimize existing spaces and boost nautical tourism in Calabria's coast.

Nuova revisione della Direttiva Pacchetti: il turismo organizzato si oppone

  • Laura Alese - Federturismo Confindustria
  • 11 Marzo 2025
💰 Several Italian travel associations, including AIAV, Aidit, Assoviaggi, ASTOI Confindustria Viaggi, Fiavet, FTO, and Maavi, have addressed a joint note to Italian MEPs, the European Council, and other key stakeholders regarding proposed amendments to the Package Travel Directive. The contentious amendments, from a draft report dated February 25 by MEP Alex Agius Saliba, suggest limiting package travel deposits to 25% and requiring balances to be paid 28 days before departure. The proposal, set for a final vote on June 26, 2025, could significantly impact small and medium enterprises within the tourism sector by restricting market competition and imposing financial challenges, as advanced bookings are a critical market lever and businesses would have to cover significant upfront costs. Associations are calling for urgent political intervention to ensure a fair and sustainable resolution for both businesses and consumers.
