Garibaldi Hotels, estate in progressione grazie agli stranieri: torna il “fattore last minute”

🏖️ In Summer, Garibaldi Hotels saw a continuous increase in bookings across beach, mountain, and art city products, with a reported 18% rise compared to the same period and number of facilities the previous year. Notably, Puglia, Sardinia, and Trentino are progressing, but a slowdown is expected by year-end. Italian bookings slightly dropped, yet foreign bookings increased. In Sicily, particularly at Avalon Sikani Resort and Baraka Village, there's a trend toward last-minute local tourism. After acquiring Avalon Sikani Resort in May, plans for expansion and upgrades are being considered. Sardinia's Santina Resort and Hotel Diana experienced a surge in foreign visitors interested in local experiences, boosting revenue and driving a focus on gastronomic and naturalistic experiences.

The hotel increases the chain's portfolio to 54 properties, reinforcing its presence in the strategic Emilia-Romagna region. Housed in the 1913 Palazzo Vighi, the 5-star hotel maintains its historical charm and features 59 rooms and suites with views of a 10,000 sqm garden, high-quality dining experiences, and spaces for meetings and events.

Nobu a Roma, stavolta si fa: Castello Sgr investe 130 milioni per l’hotel e il ristorante di De Niro & company

🏦 Castello SGR invests €130 million in the ex-Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome, set to become Italy's first Nobu Hotel. The operation is led by the Lithium fund, sponsored by Oaktree Capital Management L.P. The Nobu Hotel Roma, initially announced for summer 2022, is now scheduled to open in spring 2025, featuring 122 rooms and suites. The project marks Nobu's entry into Rome with its 42nd hotel worldwide, complementing its 77 international restaurants. Advisors include Rothschild & Co, with Nobu Hospitality Group and Grand Hotel Via Veneto leadership heralding a new luxury lifestyle hotel milestone in Italy.

Sanremo, lo storico Hotel Astoria va al gruppo Marzocco: idea condhotel per l’icona della Città dei Fiori

🏦 The historic Hotel Astoria in Sanremo, closed for over 20 years, was acquired by the Italo-Monegasque group Marzocco for about €6.7 million. Owned by Intrum Italy, a subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo, the hotel will undergo major renovations with an investment of several tens of millions of euros. The 1882-established hotel, originally "Hotel West-End," boasted approximately 220 rooms over seven floors, spanning 8,300 sqm. No specific timeline for the renovations has been confirmed by Luca Marzocco.

Couples and families value reviews more, with 85% and 82% respectively considering them crucial, compared to 66% of solo and 55% of business travelers. Post-stay, 57% write reviews, especially Polish (95%) and Spanish (94%) guests. Loyalty program members (94%) are more likely to give feedback. Overall, 71% appreciate hotel responses to reviews.

🍴 Six Senses Rome introduces a new dining offering at the Notos Rooftop, opening at the end of July, exclusively for dinner and complementing the Bivium Restaurant-Café-Bar. Emphasizing zero-kilometer Mediterranean cuisine, the menu highlights vegetables, seafood, and wild fresh fish in a setting with terracotta pots and aromatic herbs. The redesigned rooftop restaurant will offer evening service from aperitif to midnight, feature soft lantern light, live or DJ music, and is available for private events. The menu reflects the hotel's commitment to sustainability and seasonal ingredients, with dishes like fermented peppers, green tomatoes, and red onions, as well as signature drinks like the Giardino degli aranci cocktail. General Manager Francesca Tozzi is proud of the expansion, considering the rooftop a jewel for any special occasion.

🏠 Capitolo Riviera, a luxury 5-star hotel in Genova, Nervi, opened officially after a soft opening last week. Formerly the Hotel Astor, it's now part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Emphasizing eco-sustainable luxury, the hotel features a modernist architectural renovation. Its 37 rooms offer balconies and panoramic views, merging traditional architecture with modern details. The hotel also includes a fitness center, spa, sauna, Turkish bath, treatment rooms, and indoor and outdoor pools. Dining options celebrate Ligurian tradition with innovative twists and a selection of wines from small vineyards.

🏨 After four years of negotiations, a new collective bargaining agreement for tourism workers has been signed, affecting 28,000 companies and approximately 290,000 employees, expanding to 410,000 during the summer. The agreement covers employees in hotels, resorts, campsites, tourist ports, hostels, and more, with the National Collective Labour Contract (CCNL) representing over 81% of the sector's workforce. Effective until December 31, 2027, the agreement includes an immediate salary increase of €70 in July 2024, with a total raise of €200 over four years. Key innovations include updated job classifications, digital skills, wellness roles, and career paths for young workers. Special provisions for women, constituting 55% of the workforce, include enhanced parental leave benefits and extended leave for victims of violence. The contract also addresses term contracts for events like the 2025 Jubilee and the 2026 Winter Olympics, reinternalization of outsourcing, performance-based rewards including customer feedback, and improved healthcare fund contributions.

🏡 Hilton unveils DoubleTree by Hilton Nice Centre Iconic in Nice, joining Cannes and Montecarlo to complete its presence on the French Riviera. The lifestyle hotel features 105 stylishly decorated rooms, family rooms for up to five guests, a sea-view fitness center, and event space. Guests are greeted with a signature DoubleTree cookie and experience a unique check-in at the fifth floor offering panoramic views. The Iconic Bar and a soon-to-open rooftop restaurant, Pesca, with a "Fish Theatre" concept are part of the amenities. Hilton's senior vice president, David Kelly, highlights Nice's appeal due to its UNESCO World Heritage status and coastal environment. This is Hilton’s third property in the French Riviera following last year's openings of Canopy by Hilton Cannes and Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo, Curio Collection by Hilton.
