  • 10 Ottobre 2024
🌍 India and China emerge as key players in the global tourism landscape, with Indian travelers spending an average of $1,200 per international trip. The Chinese tourism market anticipates 130 million outbound trips by year-end post-pandemic. At the Global Summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council, trends such as entertainment-led travel, eco-sustainability, and a growing senior segment were highlighted, alongside challenges like visa complexities and the demand for direct flights. Indian vacationers draw travel inspiration from social profiles (76%) and entertainment (57%), favoring destinations like Dubai, Thailand, Indonesia, and the USA, which saw nearly a million Indian visitors in the first five months of 2024. Staycation: il ritorno al turismo di prossimità

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 27 Settembre 2024
🏖️ In response to economic uncertainties, the hospitality sector is focusing on local tourism. Post-pandemic "revenge travel" demand has shifted, requiring updated marketing and continuous training in advanced technologies for competitive success. The "staycation" trend, where travelers prefer destinations within 3-4 hours’ drive from home, demands tailored offers to cater to local experiences. Comprehensive multi-channel strategies, including geolocation services and personalized online content for local stays, are crucial. Investing in personalized services and loyalty programs is also advised to build strong customer relationships and ensure growth in uncertain times.

Affitti brevi: restrizioni severe o regole flessibili?

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 12 Settembre 2024
🏡 In September 2023, New York passed Local Law 18, enforcing strict short-term rental regulations, such as mandatory host registration, prohibiting entire apartment rentals for less than 30 days, and requiring host presence during guest stays. Penalties reach up to $5,000 for owners and $1,500 for platforms for non-compliance. Following the law, New York saw a 52% decrease in Airbnb bookings and a 46% drop in short-term rental demand, the most significant among the top 50 US markets. Hotel rates in New York rose by 7.4% from July 2023 to July 2024, outpacing the national average of 2.1%. Residential rents increased by 2.4% in the city, contrasting with a 0.8% national decrease. European cities are also revising short-term rental regulations, with Barcelona announcing a total ban within four years and Italy mandating a National Identification Code (CIN) from 2024 to regulate and control the sector.

Recensioni, fattore sempre più importante nella scelta di un hotel

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 24 Luglio 2024
📝 Between December 8-19, 2023, Accor's commissioned OnePoll survey included 5,000 travelers from five European countries, focusing on those who stayed in a hotel or resort within the past 12 months. Results show that 97% of holidaymakers read previous guest reviews before booking, and 67% disregard reviews older than six months. In fact, guest reviews and ratings are the second most important factor after rooms and services in the booking decision-making process. Cleanliness is the top concern for 52% of respondents, followed by value for money (27%) and friendly staff (19%). Couples and families most value reviews, with 85% considering them crucial, while 66% of solo travelers and 55% of business travelers do the same. Around 57% of guests write reviews for at least half of their stays; women are more active than men in this regard (90% vs. 84%). Poles (95%) lead the way in frequent reviews, followed by Spaniards (94%), Germans (85%), and French (84%), with UK guests being the least likely (79%) to regularly leave reviews. Lastly, 71% appreciate when hotels respond to their comments, seeing it as an indication of good customer service.

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 9 Luglio 2024
🏡 In November 2023, a study involving 508 Swiss citizens who stayed in a 5-star hotel between 2022 and 2023 found that travelers increasingly choose hotels for their commitment to sustainability. The survey identified three luxury traveler segments in Switzerland: Connoisseur Practicals (44%), Indifferent Aesthetes (35.8%), and Ethical Enthusiasts (20.3%). Ethical considerations, such as employee treatment, environmental sustainability, and price transparency, significantly influence hotel choice. Hotels like Hotel Conca Park in Sorrento and Hotel Saturnia & International in Venice have gained popularity through sustainable practices and certifications, such as the Dream & Charme environmental certification.
