Come personalizzare l’esperienza dei vostri ospiti con ChatGPT

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 27 Febbraio 2025
📱 ChatGPT and AI tools can enhance guest experiences in hotels by offering personalized interactions and suggestions, such as secret viewpoints for sunsets or breakfast in bed. These tools don't require special training or technical skills and can automate repetitive tasks, creating tailored guest attention to strengthen brand identity. AI should support human interaction, not replace it. Key steps include defining brand uniqueness, segmenting guests, mapping guest journey touchpoints, creating specific prompts for each segment and stage, and monitoring feedback for continuous improvement. Emphasizing a unique hotel atmosphere, core values, and experiences, as well as consistent communication tone, ChatGPT can assist in all stages from pre-booking to post-stay, facilitating personalized messaging and enhancing upselling opportunities.

IA e travel: la nuova era delle prenotazioni alberghiere

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 12 Febbraio 2025
💸 AI-generated intelligence has made significant strides in recent years, centralizing its role in the tourism industry. AI agents now automate and optimize the entire booking process, potentially incentivizing direct booking and reducing reliance on intermediaries. However, they may reinforce OTA dominance by favoring large platform information over official hotel websites, potentially widening the gap between large chains and independent establishments. For an inclusive revolution, new systems must ensure fair access to the opportunities offered by AI. Operator by OpenAI exemplifies the evolving booking experience, with plans to manage the whole booking process, from search to transaction. Italian hoteliers face the challenge of optimizing digital strategies for competitiveness, considering channel management, offer optimization, and personalized experience. Despite potential, AI in tourism faces challenges like operational autonomy, system fragmentation, and reservation process rigidity. Only two years after ChatGPT's launch, the industry has seen a revolution in travel search and booking, with the advent of AGI potentially bringing even more profound changes.

Green hospitality: trasformare la sostenibilità in un’opportunità strategica

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 30 Gennaio 2025
🌳 By 2025, sustainability becomes essential for hoteliers, driven by eco-conscious travelers demanding authentic green practices. Investing in AI-based innovative solutions can optimize energy consumption and reduce waste, with savings between 5% and 15%, and a payback period under three years. Palazzo Morosini degli Spezieri in Venice and Riviera Resort Hotel in Lignano exemplify energy efficiency with smart systems. Hotel Conca Park in Sorrento, Italy's first zero-waste hotel, uses leftovers for compost and rainwater for irrigation. AI aids in optimizing purchases and predicting guest consumption. Embracing local economies, hotels like Hotel Saturnia & International in Venice engage in community projects and prioritize local suppliers. Digital transformations, including contactless check-in and digital keys, aim to reduce guest waste which averages nearly one kilogram per night, with 50% being paper and plastics. Urban Hotels in Florence adopts a holistic approach to sustainability, considering guests, staff, suppliers, and the environment.

Il turismo cinese in ripresa nel 2025

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 16 Gennaio 2025
📅 Chinese tourism sector faced significant challenges over the last four years but shows signs of optimism, according to a December 2024 survey by Dragontrail among 465 Chinese travel agents. More than half predict outbound travel will return to pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2025, especially to Asia, North America, and Europe. Agents are focusing on niche segments and using platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin to boost sales. A full recovery is expected by 66% of agents by the end of 2025, with Asia and Europe leading. The Chinese market is divided into three main demographic groups, with post-00 and post-90 generations being the primary target for 43% of agents, mostly from first-tier cities. Silver tourism is also growing, with retirees seeking high-quality travel experiences. To reach Chinese travelers effectively, Douyin (69%), Xiaohongshu (56%), and Ctrip (56%) are the platforms with the highest conversion rates. Trade fairs in Mainland China and Hong Kong are essential for networking. Travelers are increasingly looking for Chinese language services, niche attractions, timely travel product updates, smooth electronic payments, competitive pricing, and dedicated offers.

Perché l’intelligenza artificiale non riuscirà mai a sostituire l’intelligenza umana

  • Claudia Caponi
  • 19 Dicembre 2024
📌 Cathy Adams, Senior Commissioning Editor at The Times, recounted an experiment revealing the limitations of AI in travel planning. AI helped Adams with China's 144-hour visa-free transit information, a task that forums and agents struggled with. However, testing various travel chatbots showed their inability to match human understanding or provide satisfactory responses. In 2023, 38% of travelers chose human travel professionals, with predictions suggesting 45% of Italian travelers will use AI for travel by 2025. Despite AI integration in travel, 22% of Italians, especially those over 55, still prefer traditional agencies for personalized and expert support.

  • 20 Novembre 2024
🏖 TikTok, launched in 2016 and boasting over a billion monthly users, revolutionizes travel with a 410% boom in travel content since 2021, appealing mainly to users under 34 years old. With 70% of Europeans open to booking trips based on TikTok inspirations, and 60% of Gen Z Americans using it as a search engine, the app guides voyages from secret spots to packing tips.
